After a disastrous vacation, the game’s protagonist is a young American named Jason Brody, attempting to rescue his imprisoned friends and flee the hostile islands. The game is not a direct sequel to Far Cry 2 or the original Far Cry.įar Cry 3 is on the Rook Islands, a tropical Asian-Pacific archipelago. It is the third primary installment in the Far Cry series, and its plot occurs sometime after Far Cry 2.
